Martin Reddington
In January 2000, Martin was appointed Programme Director of e-HR Transformation at Cable & Wireless PLC. This global programme received acclaim at the National Business Awards and Human Resources Excellence Awards in 2002.
Since leaving Cable & Wireless in October 2002, Martin blends academic research with consultancy. His doctoral thesis examined the perceptions of managers towards e-HR and how these perceptions can affect future HR-led investment decisions.
Martin regularly runs workshops for companies on HR transformation and consulting for blue chip companies. He is also a member of the CIPD’s national advisory group on technology and HR.
Martin is currently undertaking leading edge research with Professor Graeme Martin, Director of the Centre for Reputation Management Through People, into the impact of e-HR in organisations, in particular the effects on the relationship between HR and line managers. Some of this work was presented at the 2nd European Academic Conference on e-HR in May 2008. He is also working with Professor Martin on a CIPD Research project which examines the impact of Web 2.0 in organisations and offers guidance to the HR profession on how best to utilise these new technologies. A full report of this work will be released at the end of 2008.
Publications/Work in Progress.
Martin is a Visiting Research Fellow of Roffey Park Institute, the University of Glasgow and Napier University and has co-authored two well-reviewed books on HR Transformation, in addition to a number of practitioner articles on the subject.
